We are happy to announce the launch of the project „Our Waters, Our Future: Plastic Cleanup Campaign in Romanian Waters”, an initiative aimed at protecting biodiversity and reducing plastic pollution in the 14 major river basins in Romania.

What makes the project special?

• We teach students and teachers to be agents of change through community interventions and sustainable best practices. Every child discovers that they have the power to contribute to a cleaner future!
• We explore the impact of microplastics on biodiversity through the otter – a true sentinel species. The studies conducted here will be pioneering in the region.
• We identify and map areas with massive waste accumulations and collaborate with the authorities to eliminate them.
• We organize education and awareness campaigns in 14 educational institutions (Ambassador Schools – With Clean Waters), using innovative methods such as design thinking.

Our project is about real actions, but also about inspiring the little ones to dream and act for their future.

The project is coordinated by the Association for the Conservation of Biological Diversity (ACDB) and implemented in partnership with the Romanian Ornithological Society (SOR) and the All Grow Association.

The project „Our Waters, Our Future: Campaign to Clean Up Plastic in Romanian Waters” is part of the With Clean Waters program, implemented with the support of Lidl Romania, in partnership with the MaiMultVerde Association and the Community Relations Association.
